Admissions

We warmly welcome you to our school and recommend you come along and have a look during the school day so you can get a feel for what we are all about. Choosing the right school for your child is such an important decision.

We are more than happy for you to come along more than once! We would be delighted to show you around our school. We have moved to a four class structure and have limited places available in other year groups. Please contact Mrs Sally Drake on 01765 677412 to book an appointment.

Starting School

If you receive an offer of a place at Burton Leonard from North Yorkshire County Council, you will then be invited to our open days and Parents Evening meetings during the summer term before your child starts school in the September. It is an exciting time and we will guide you through the process.  In EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) we support your child in their personal, social and emotional development, and most of this will have been started at home.  It is helpful if your child can cope with the following basic skills before starting school: use the toilet independently, wash hands, dress and undress in outdoor and indoor clothes, fasten and unfasten shoes/coats, use a knife and fork. Before your child starts school we ask parents to complete a pack of admissions forms giving certain information such as emergency contact details and medical history. We look forward to welcoming you to our school family.
