Sports Leaders

Sports Leaders

Sports Leaders are a group of children that show great enthusiasm and dedication in all aspects of sport. Their challenge is to develop sport within our school and inspire as many children as possible to engage in physical activity through fun, friendly and competitive competitions.

Sports leader meetings are Regularly with Mrs Whild, the PE Lead, to discuss activities that are being held within school that week. This is also an opportunity for the children to voice their opinions on school sport and create new ideas to encourage more children to engage in physical activity.

The role of a sports leader:
• Encourage all children to get involved in sports.
• Create new ideas to develop sport within our school.
• Show sports leadership qualities such as team work, good listening skills, fair play and respect.
• Follow and encourage others to live by the school games values:

Respect, Self-Belief, Honesty, Team Work, Passion and Determination.

• Help teach children certain skills within different aspects of sport.
• Officiate different lunch time and intra-school competitions.
• Take suggestions and ideas from their class about how sport can be improved within our school.
• Help set up, get children involved, organise fair teams and record results from intra-school competitions.
• Create and deliver key stage assemblies on upcoming sporting events.
• Design posters to be placed around the school advertising sporting competitions and fundraising events.
