Y6 End of School Treat

To mark the end of our Y6’s time at Burton Leonard Primary School we would like to treat the children to one final event before they move on to their exciting new adventures.

On the 16th July we are taking them to Saltburn-by-the-Sea for a day at the beach. We have organised mini-golf, ice-lollies, a fish & chips lunch, a safety talk from the Saltburn lifeguards and an afternoon playing on the beach.

Myself, Mr Stace, Mrs Thomas and Mrs Bland will accompany the children. We will be leaving school at 9.15am and returning for the end of the school day. We will inform parents should be a delay.

For health and safety reasons the children will not be swimming in the sea, however we will take them for a safe paddle, weather permitting.

To support the trip we kindly ask for a parental donation towards the coach. Cost per child to transport pupils is £28 – to support costs we are requesting a donation of £16 per child.

We are looking forward to a great day -fingers crossed for good weather!

The children have a choice of cod bites, sausage, nuggets or a chip butty; we will order this a few days prior to the trip. If they do not wish to have a lunch from the fish and chip shop, we will organise a packed lunch with Tracey.

Please email headteacher@burtonleonard.n-yorks.sch.uk with your child’s menu choice no later than the 8th July , thank you.

Pupils will require the following:

lots of drinks for the day!

a couple of healthy snacks for the day

comfortable clothes and shoes that are suitable for all weathers (no swimming costumes as we will not be swimming) – please prepare for inclement weather

a sunhat/cap

a towel (to dry their feet after paddling)

a picnic rug or blanket

suncream (preferably 8 hour applied before departure)

a bucket & spade (optional)

Please give permission for your child to attend via Arbor, thank you.

We look forward to a great day out!
