Sports Day 23/24
Tuesday the 2nd July we are booked in for our Sports Day! We want to welcome parents to come and watch at the school and see the skills we've learnt this year put into action. If pupils could wear a t-shirt in the colour of their house that would be fantastic.
This year will work slightly differently to last year. The afternoon will be split into two separate sessions. The first being an activity session. This will run from 1:30pm - 2:30pm. All pupils will be split into eight groups and do a round robin of activities: five minutes each. This will mean all pupils are active and taking part for a solid part of the afternoon.
Team captains will take around a scorecard to the activity leaders and be awarded points for honesty, self-belief, passion, teamwork, respect, determination. These will be collated and added to team totals.
Once the activities have finished, we'll move onto the track races, which will look similar to last year. Pupils will sit in year groups, and we'll conduct some races for each year group.
Points will be awarded to 1st 2nd and 3rd place and added to previous totals.
There will be a section in the middle of the field for parents to be, meaning you can follow different groups around and watch each activity and then head to your seats/stand and watch the races from the same location. We'll look at putting a few gazebos up for protection from the sun if the weather demands.
Any questions, please email me and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible.
