Next Thursday afternoon our Y6 pupils have been invited to attend Crucial Crew.

 

Crucial Crew is organised by North Yorkshire Police and will be held at Harrogate College, Hornbeam Park, Harrogate. Pupils will be transported by coach and accompanied by school staff. 

 

Crucial Crew is vital in encouraging good citizenship to assist in reducing accidents, injuries, anti-social behaviour and crime, as well as protecting young people through education and awareness. The event is designed to educate students in North Yorkshire to make informed decisions when faced with stressful, emotional, dangerous and/or 'risky' situations.  The event encourages active participation by all students and is closely aligned with our PSHE curriculum. 

 

Students will rotate around a number of workshops staffed by key partner agencies to learn life skills including how to make 999 calls in an emergency, how to deal with peer pressure and/or stress; workshops may include: 

Children will need to wear school uniform and bring a waterproof jacket, as some activities may be outdoors.  We will be leaving at lunchtime, so will therefore have an early lunch.  Please provide your child with a packed lunch and healthy snack for your child's return; if your child would like a packed lunch provided by school, please order this no later than Weds 26th June, thank you. 

 

We are due back at school for 3:30pm, however we will update parents should there be any delay.
